learn far more than 100 previous blogs I have found combined. I see that you have an article about SEO secrets below but I wonder if you could direct "SEO" need to understand the basics.
A rough illustration of how SEO works
Let me start by giving a rough example of how Google SEO work.
Google has developed an automated algorithm that ranks your site. They send what is called a "spider" to "crawl" your site and check for more than 100 indicators that determine whether your site is valuable or useful. These indicators include things like backlinks, domain age, traffic, fresh content, etc.
SEO is the art of making sure they like spiders happy with what they found.

7 Basics of Blogging Search Engine Optimization
Here are 7 basics of blogging search engine optimization.

1. You need your own domain and hosting

The first thing you need to know is that a beginner you need your own domain and hosting. Free blog set up not doing any favors for your SEO efforts.

Why is that?

Well a lot of people speculate that if you are really serious about your website, you will get your own name and host it yourself. And Google just wants to show to the web sites that are considered serious and trustworthy.

I recommend all new bloggers get their own domain and hosting setup right from the start. You can read more about why in my blog hosting reviews that I did recently.

BlueHost is where I started and they now provide free domain name when you open a new hosting account with them.

2. Solve the problem with the original content
You must remember that the whole purpose of Google is to provide their customers with the search results that are relevant and useful. Everything they do is built around the premise.

And, to be realistic, the most important thing you can do for your SEO is making massive useful content that solves people's problems. If you solve a problem that people are looking for then it is likely that you will get shared on social media and ranking in Google.

The phrase "original content" means much more than just a blog post today. You have to start expansion to:

      photography
Get on Flickr or Photobucket and use the original image on your blog. Even better if you take their own.
      video
Make a tutorial or to post your video. This will build links and traffic from Youtube and not well on mobile devices.
      podcasts
iTunes growing as fast as people get smart phones better and spend more time plugged in. You can check out my podcast here.
      Tools and plugins
If you can develop a genuine tool and install it on your website, you can be assured of top rankings of Google for a long time. Google really love tools and plugins that can be used to help in their lives.

The idea is to build a relationship with your readers to help them out. It will mean more sharing and faster results in the SERPs (search engine ranking position).

3. Build backlinks that are relevant to the natural way

If you are just starting out with SEO you may know little about backlinks. A backlink is when other sites link back to your site from their site.

Not all backlinks are created equal though. Some things to note:

      Do not buy them
I've heard about a man who is the head of the SEO guy for an investment company. He bought some cheap backlinks on a domain name with millions of dollars and get it banned from Google. Do not buy backlinks. Google is on them.
      Matters source
Blogs that provide a backlink makes a big difference. If the old domain name with good rankings themselves, the more the number of backlinks. One good link from the domain name authority (.edu and .gov outstanding) and your rankings change over hundreds of small children.
      Matters anchor text
The anchor text is the words that are used as links. For example, when I use the "anchor text" as the anchor text. You want this to be relevant to the targeted keywords.

As mentioned, the best way to build quality backlinks is to write quality content incredible and then a guest post on the best blogs in your niche.

Remember, backlinks to your OWN content is also really important. See how many links I had my own article in this blog post? They count too!

NOTE: Using regular keyword as the anchor text is no longer recommended method. There needs to be a natural mixture of keywords in your link.

4. Make sure your theme SEO optimized

This is the topic of a series of posts so I'll keep it brief.

Think of SEO has two components: the off-site things like social media and backlinks and stuff in places like optimizing your theme.

Optimizing your theme is important because it helps give Google an indicator that you are a trustworthy site. It also helps Google find your content. Some things you can do include:

      clean code
Make sure your theme is coded with the latest and greatest techniques making it easy to get around.
      Fast loading
A good fast loading website for user experience and thus good for Google. Make sure your theme pull weight and fast loading. You can check the speed here. You can use the plugin cache helps speed.
      original
Some people do not agree but I still feel that my original theme better than a theme that thousands of others are using. A newly developed and the original site is also equipped with dozens of other benefits.
      not broken
Make sure you clean up any broken links and navigation make sure you all go smoothly.

Best paid theme for SEO today is made for at StudioPress. Yep, Brian Clark again.

Having a well designed theme is also important for your brand. Separating yourself from the competition is a very important thing to do.

5. Improve your permalink structure
Permalinks is how people find your blog and posts and an internal courtyard. They consist of a root and extension.

For example, in this post we have

Now, it is very important to have a good permalink structure. You can change this in WordPress by going SETTINGS> Permalinks and tweaking options. The best option to have there, in my opinion, only the name of the post. So you have to choose CUSTOM STRUCTURE and then add /% postname% /

However, even better than it is to research what keywords you are trying to rank for then shorten your URL to match those keywords. Take a look at this post and have to guess what keywords I am trying to rank for.

Be safe! You do not want to change the old permalinks because then every backlink you will be damaged. Only new.

6. Install sitemap

One of the easiest things you can do is install the Google Sitemaps plugin that provides a complete map of all your posts, pages and archives. The most commonly used is this one person and it seems to work pretty well.

It automatically generates a sitemap to your regularly and then submit to Google, Bing, etc. on your behalf. That really gave them a map of your site so that they can better index.

7. Comment on other blogs
For a long time my SEO strategy consists of only a comment on a blog the other authorities. Not only make you more traffic, exposure and new relationships, is also considered as a backlink.

Now, some of the blogs you can leave the target anchor text because they are not real worried about the user name. But in most blog you need to use your real name. It is okay.

Try and use Market Samurai to see where your competitors get their backlinks from. You may just find a lot of them come from the comments on the blog post with good ratings.
